If so, you know that these contain many parts to create, assemble and then detail! SOLIDWORKS Premium software includes the SOLIDWORKS Routing add-in application. With the SOLIDWORKS Routing add-in you can create a special type of sub-assembly that builds a path of pipes, tubes. Google Chrome Download/Install Chrome. SOLIDWORKS Add-Ins (405). Library which I can add it into my routing toolbox and use drag and drop function, or if it is. The Piping & Tubing routing functionality in SOLIDWORKS utilizes a wide range of tools & features to accelerate the development process of routing. SolidWorks Routing – Custom Components and the Piping & Tubing Database. Living in the oil and gas industrial landscape of Alberta, Canada, I use SolidWorks Routing almost as often as I dream of hot summer days (quite often). However, almost all of my experience with the SolidWorks Routing tools are built on using the default piping and tubing library installed with SolidWorks.
Sep 20, 2010 A very long time ago, around SolidWorks 2001+ (or something close to that) you could buy Solidworks as a basic seat, and 'Add On' upgrades and add-ins. The problem with that was you had a separate annual maintenance fee for EACH upgrade. Friction zone tripper rar.

How to add a non-pipe component to a spool?
Anyone know how to add a non-pipe component into a spool? Is it even possible on Solidworks though?
Unfortunately my part doesn't belong to the sub assembly like you said. Thanks for helping me anyway. I'll try to find a way to work around this. Thanks Peter!
How to change OD of wires/cores and cables after routing?
Using SW 2017. I'm getting weird extremely large OD and bend radius of my cables in a test assy I'm working on, to learn routing. Could be some messed up unit conversion, I don't know. Anyway, I'd like to change the values, but its grayed out. Where do I make these changes? Anything I do in the Cable Wire Library Wizard is ignored. On a…
Elbows will not change type
Routing strikes again. I have almost a whole job knocked out, and they decided the pipe needs to be Sch 80 not 40 so I run through 'Change route diameter' and switch to Sch 80. Worked great. Till I realized all of my socket elbows changed from Class 3000 to 9000. There is NO way to change them back. Selecting the elbow and changing the…
I think Peter De Vlieger is right, it sounds like somenting is not matching in your files. Maybe you can attach the pipe and elbow file to the post. Than we can take a peek if we see somenting that would caus this problem for you.
route properties template
Does anyone have any in depth information about it ? To be very specific, I'm talking about the Route Properties Template that one can find when going into Routing Lbrary Manager and selecting Routing Properties. The help file provided by SW is as good as non-existant. As far as I've been able to find the entire explanation about it is this…
Hi, I am new to this forum. I am working with SW 2019 and have the same issue described here. I simply cannot see the routing template file location in route properties. I was considering trying dumping user profile as done by Andreas in July 2016. Can you give me the steps to do it? Thanks
End length adjustment
Hi I doing some tube routes, and noticed that I must of had the end length adjustment set to .400'. But did not need any at all, and where the tube seats in the weld on flange fitting is now too long. Is there away to go back in and set it to 0. Thanks
True, but do you know where (or if) there is a default value that drives this so when you create a new Connection Point it will default to zero?
Cannot Replace Routing Components
So I'm designing a plumbing system for a customer and i have completed the 3D model but I looked back over their spec sheet and realized that all the threaded elbows need to be #3000 rather than the #2000 that I did my modeling with. Now this shouldn't be a big deal as I used the standard design library provided threaded elbow, so what I've tried…
I'm sure that by now you'll have made it work one way or the other but.. in future what you can try is just make a simple route with 1 elbow (the wrong one) and then see if you can alter it so that it has the 'correct one'. If you still have the same error(s) or issues then you have something that you should be able to share with the community.…
Routing Tube Fitting Part Validity Issue
Hello, Quick background: SW CSWP, 16 year user, less than a year Routing user. Expert in design tables & Configs. I have created a massive library of all of our parts, configured in sizes and materials for all of our machinery routing/plumbing of hydraulic & pneumatic operations. In the attached small assembly of some of the pneumatic…
Hey good morning Peter! Thanks for the feedback. That's exactly verbatim what I was thinking. The Cpoint Rpoint thing boggles my mind.. Some of the fittings work just fine, some are weird in places. Thanks again!!! Cheers
Routing Component Creates Separate Pipe
I use Solidworks 2019. I've been using Solidwork's routing feature for months now. I've learned to play around its peculiarities and create functioning custom route parts that clip on to a route and continue the established path. However, sometimes, Solidworks decides it doesn't want to work properly -and these are one of those times. Here's…
Thanks, it seems you were right. I guess my alignment was off. I can't seem to find the 'Correct Answer' button.
Pipe mass in BOM
Hi, does anyone know why BOM is showing pipe mass in grams instead of kilograms in BOM. The routing part has set grams in options. However pipes are generated with mass set on kilograms. Another thing is when I click group pipes or tubes with the same diameter, it will show wrong length and wrong mass. Ungrouped: Grouped: 1nd column…
Does anyone maybe know what property is grouping in BOM to sum length or mass? Also somewhere I read that pipe identifier needs to be unique for each configuration. Is the value of pipe identifier linked to other parts? Because if I change it from [diameter]x[thickness] to something xxx it won't generate pipes on edit. Also Does that mean I…
How to do this in Piping
Hi Guys, I would like to ask you're expertized on piping. How do you start creating Routing with this ISOMETRIC. I can't tilt the flange in an angle position. How do you do it? see attach jpg
Is it impossible? No. But to start with the flange in that position is not something that I would do myself. I rather either start from the other end of the pipe and work my way towards the flange or divide up the pipe. See red line on screenshot By then creating a spool from the red line (by means of using a dummy that is not picked up…
